Job summary

Fehr & Peers in Roseville, CA seeks a Transportation Engineer or Planner with 2–4 years of experience to build on a strong technical foundation and take on greater ownership. You will lead tasks, manage projects, and mentor junior staff while supporting clients and growing as a project manager.

You’ll work on a wide range of planning and engineering projects and develop technical expertise, client communication skills, and leadership capabilities in a collaborative environment that values

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of transportation planning or engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in transportation, civil or electrical engineering, urban and regional planning, or related field.
• Experience applying transportation analysis techniques with increasing independence.
• Familiarity with software: Excel, GIS, CAD, traffic operations tools, modeling packages, and programming languages.

Responsibilities

• Lead tasks and manage projects, including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Apply standard and intermediate analytical techniques independently with guidance.
• Prepare clear technical reports, memos, and presentations.
• Participate in and lead client meetings and develop relationships.
• Mentor entry-level staff and interns, delegate and review work.
• Assist with proposals and business development.
• Balance multiple assignments and manage workload.
• Conduct site visits and data collection.
• Learn and adopt new tools while maintaining professional judgment.
