Job summary

Burgess & Niple, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Engineer, PE, to lead and contribute to highway and traffic projects. You will apply your technical expertise across the full project lifecycle—from preliminary engineering to final plan development—and mentor junior staff while ensuring quality, schedule, and budget adherence.

Collaborate with engineers and leaders across the firm, engage with clients, and represent the firm at events to position yourself for growth and leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

• PE registration in the state of employment or reciprocity
• 4–10 years of related transportation design experience
• Proficiency with MS Office, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD

Responsibilities

• Complete design tasks for highway, roadway, streets, traffic and safety projects for DOTs and local agencies
• Develop unique and complex solutions to highway/traffic problems for projects and pursuits
• Prepare specifications, cost estimates, and reports for rural to urban projects
• Create an exemplary client experience throughout project delivery
• Maintain QC of work products and ensure projects meet schedule and budget
• Collaborate with firm-wide engineers on pursuits and technical challenges
• Provide training, coaching, and mentoring for developing staff
