Job summary

GHD in the Central Region is seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer to join a high‑performing team. You will conduct transportation analyses, drive design decisions, and contribute to traffic studies from field reviews to final reports.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, at least 5 years of transportation experience, and familiarity with HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, SIDRA/RODEL, MicroStation, and AutoCAD Civil3D. PTOE or PE licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree.
• Minimum 5 years transportation engineering experience.
• Professional Engineering License desired.
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification desired.
• Experience completing Traffic Impact Studies is required.
• Familiarity with HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic and SIDRA/RODEL software.
• Familiarity with MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil3d; ability to become proficient.
• Strong teammate, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
• Ability to meet challenging deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct transportation analyses and traffic impact studies.
• Develop design traffic and existing/future traffic conditions.
• Perform capacity/LOS and corridor feasibility studies.
• Execute operational analyses and traffic simulations.
• Design and optimize signal timing.
• Apply access management principles to improve corridor operations.
• Perform historical crash reviews and advanced safety analyses.
• Develop and evaluate multimodal alternatives.
• Recommending improvements and innovations.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports and project documentation.
• Assist/lead traffic signal designs and concept plan development.
• Responsible for business development and client relations.
