Job summary

GHD is seeking a Transportation Roadway Engineer to join the Highways Roads & Bridges team in Des Moines, IA (hybrid model; in-office three days a week, with possible Golden, CO location). You will perform planning and design duties for highway projects, applying CAD tools and design standards to deliver quality results.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering, a PE license or plans to obtain one, and minimum five years of transportation engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain within a reasonable time.
• Minimum 5 years of transportation engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop contract plans and specifications for highway projects.
• Use CAD software to prepare plans and designs.
• Ensure designs meet criteria and standards.
• Prepare quantity estimates and bid items.
• Perform complex geometric calculations for project design.
• Manage small- to medium-scale projects within a program plan.
