Job summary

Baxter and Woodman Inc is seeking a Transportation Engineer for our Peoria, IL office. The role focuses on design engineering for municipal transportation projects with field exposure, using Geopak/OpenRoads Designer. You’ll collaborate with diverse disciplines and support project delivery and client coordination.

Requirements include a B.S. in Civil Engineering and at least 2 years of relevant municipal/highway experience. Occasional travel within Baxter and Woodman’s service area is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in civil engineering required for municipal/highway projects.
• Two years of relevant transportation experience preferred.
• Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area.

Responsibilities

• Design Roadway, Drainage, Underground Utility, and Infrastructure improvements.
• Conduct drainage, traffic, and various engineering studies.
• Prepare plans and specs per IDOT standards.
• Assist senior staff with client management and project pursuits.
• Coordinate construction activities with clients, inspectors, and contractors.
• Observe on-site work and maintain daily reports and meeting minutes.
