Role Overview

This position involves assisting in the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects. Responsibilities include research, development, calculations, design, and delivery in partnership with the project team. You will apply engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects of varying size and complexity, leveraging your technical knowledge to support project execution. Developing conceptual and detailed designs and calculations using current drawing and technical tools is also expected. As part of the team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of diverse projects for HNTB’s clients.

What You'll Do

1. Complete assigned work within the schedule and hours provided.
2. Prepare and/or modify portions of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
3. Develop project quantities and assist with cost estimates.
4. Support engineering teams with organization and administrative tasks related to design files.
5. Complete various tasks independently, including research, data collection, field investigations, and project development and design.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience, or
• Master’s degree in Engineering with 1 year of relevant experience.

What You'll Bring

• Proficiency in applying engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, AutoCAD, or similar software.

What We Prefer

• Master's degree in Engineering.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
• Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.

Locations include Ontario, CA, Santa Ana, CA (Irvine). The pay range varies by location, approximately $79,863 to $125,240, depending on qualifications and experience.
