Job summary

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is seeking an experienced civil engineer to design and manage roadway projects using OpenRoads Designer and related tools. You will provide technical guidance, analyze data, and prepare reports throughout scoping to advertisement stages.

You will coordinate with VDOT staff, local governments and FHWA, ensure compliance with standards, and manage multiple projects with quality and deadlines in mind.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• EIT or PE license desired.
• Experience with roadway design and project management for transportation projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret engineering data; prepare reports and recommendations.
• Perform roadway design using OpenRoads Designer and related tools from scoping to advertisement.
• Coordinate with VDOT staff, local agencies and FHWA; communicate findings clearly.
• Manage projects within scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Provide technical direction and support for design standards and procedures.
