Job summary
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) in Sundance seeks a full-time Engineer I to help shape Wyoming’s transportation system from design to construction, overseeing projects from inception to contract completion under the direction of the Resident Engineer. The position offers hands-on field inspections, surveying, data analysis, and collaboration with contractors and public agencies.
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 0–2 years of experience are preferred; join WYDOT to support
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- 0-2 years of progressive engineering experience.
- Ability to interpret plans and specifications.
- Familiar with field inspections and surveying.
Responsibilities
- Performs field inspections, surveys, laboratory testing, material analysis, and quality control.
- Develops engineering models, conducts studies, makes cost estimates, and submits reports, summaries, and other required documentation.
- Reviews and evaluates the work of assigned engineering technicians.
- Performs inspections and testing to ensure the contractor is constructing the project according to plans, specifications, etc.
- Coordinates with the contractor, other agencies, and the public when a project impacts them.
