Job summary

Wyoming Department of Transportation is seeking a Construction and Field Survey Technician to support the Chief Engineer - District Construction. You will perform surveys, testing, and inspections on highway projects and help ensure quality and compliance with plans.

The role involves coordinating with contractors, preparing records, and contributing to project documentation and QA/QC processes. A Associate's Degree is required, with 2–4 years of related experience; valid driver's license is

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of progressive work experience in roadway construction methods.
• Knowledge of project coordination and monitoring.
• Experience with survey equipment and data collection is a plus.
• Ability to interpret plans and specifications and document results.

Responsibilities

• Performs surveys, testing, and inspections on preliminary designs and highway construction.
• Oversees highway construction work performed by contractors.
• Field test materials and check work against specifications; confer with contractors and crews.
• Prepare and maintain project records, estimates, and reports.
• Perform topographic surveys and QA/QC documentation.
