Responsibilities

Under the direction of a Senior Transportation Engineer, the Transportation Engineer (Civil) is responsible for processing documents for State or Federally funded Local Assistance projects in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. This involves reviewing and preparing documentation for projects involving State or Federal funds administered to Local Agencies through Caltrans.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

• Review the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) for this classification. If you meet MQs under Pattern II and require the TE Civil in-person written hurdle exam, do not take the online exam prior to passing the written hurdle.
• Possession of a valid Professional Engineering License (Civil) issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers is required for Range D. For other ranges, it is not required.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.
• Prepare and submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) not exceeding two pages, addressing specific questions about your experience and skills related to the role.
• Complete application packages, including the STD 678 form and SOQ, must be submitted by the final filing date: 05/13/2025.
