Job summary

Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) in Newington, CT, seeks a Transportation Engineer 3 to advance BIM adoption, 2D/3D modeling, and data management for highway and bridge projects. You will design, model, and support construction, asset management, and ISO-19650 workflows.

You will engage with BIM leaders nationwide, develop training materials, and supervise CAD applications using Bentley tools. Hybrid work and travel are possible; PE/EIT may substitute for degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and three years of transportation engineering experience.
• PE or EIT licensure may substitute for the degree requirement.
• One year of general transportation engineering experience at the working level.
• Must be able to travel and possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversees work of lower level engineers and performs complex design work.
• Designs difficult foundations and bridges of advanced design.
• Makes field inspections to obtain design data for critical structures.
• Oversees field inspection of structural condition and prepares repair recommendations.
• Provides technical advice on drainage, storm sewers, and hydraulics for projects.
