Job summary
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) seeks a Transportation Engineer 3 (Engineering) to support 2D/3D modeling for highway and bridge projects, during design and construction, embracing BIM and digital delivery capabilities.
You will work with Bentley OpenRoads/OpenBridge Designer, train staff, and collaborate with BIM leaders nationally to advance CTDOT’s project delivery and data management practices, including ISO-19650 and GIS integration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least three years of transportation engineering experience.
- One year of working level experience in professional transportation engineering.
- PE or EIT licensure may substitute for degree; Master’s can substitute for one year of experience.
- Current incumbents may be promoted after three years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversees design and reviews complex highway/bridge projects.
- Coordinates with towns and agencies on project design.
- Provides technical guidance to engineers and technicians.
- Performs field and office investigations and prepares reports.
