Manages highway ITS construction projects and local ITS. Administers highway construction contracts, including determining acceptability of materials furnished and work performed. Documents contract supplemental agreements, with approval authority up to $200,000. Represents ADOT to employees, consultants, contractors, other agencies, and the public. Ensures that ADOT, consultant and contractor employees comply with all applicable safety and environmental standards. Supervises a field office's staff, including project supervisors, team leaders, field inspectors, office technicians, and consultants, handling hiring, scheduling, training, performance appraisals, promotions, personnel actions, disciplinary actions, and managing a field office's budget, vehicle fleet, IT equipment, and other assets. Meets the requirements of ARS. 41-771.8.2.
A master's degree in Civil Engineering, Public or Business Administration, or a closely related field to highway construction contract administration.
A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license for Arizona or proof of reciprocity. Two years of experience equivalent to a Transportation Engineer.
This position requires a valid driver’s license, completion of driver training, and passing driver record checks. Operating a personal vehicle on state business requires liability insurance as per Arizona law. All new hires must complete E-Verify.
