Job summary

W3Global is seeking an experienced Transportation Drafter/Designer to deliver high‑quality transportation design plans and construction documents using MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer for Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) projects. The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, technically proficient, and able to collaborate closely with engineers, managers, and clients to meet project goals.

Responsibilities include drafting, plan preparation, and coordination with project teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience using MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer in a transportation drafting or design environment.
• Experience on UDOT projects with an understanding of applicable standards.
• Ability to develop accurate, detailed transportation drawings and design deliverables.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate with a team.
• Willingness to follow CAD standards, procedures, and quality control requirements.
• Onsite work at the Midvale, Utah office.

Responsibilities

• Transportation drafting and design using MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
• Prepare accurate, detailed drawings per project requirements and standards.
• Support design and plan development across transportation projects.
• Incorporate engineering comments while maintaining drawing accuracy and consistency.
• Review deliverables for quality, completeness, and compliance with standards.
• Maintain organized project files and drawing sets, and support submittals when needed.
• Contribute to drafting workflow improvements and team productivity.
