Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer License may substitute for degree.
• Two years of engineering experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Reviews engineering plans for compliance with standards and project requirements.
• Reviews traffic analysis prepared by consultants.
• Prepares letters, memos, and reports with recommendations for conditions.
• Conducts engineering analysis to identify areas of concern.
• Works with staff to resolve project issues as part of an interdepartmental team.
• Provides excellent customer service to City residents and business stakeholders.
• Interprets and ensures compliance with codes, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Advises staff and developers on design alternatives and solutions.
• Manages a complex workload with competing schedules and deadlines.
• Participates in city efforts to achieve community outcomes through leadership.
• Develops mitigating measures for projects with unmitigated impacts.
• Represents the Transportation Department at Permit Center; answers questions.
• Uses permit tracking and time-keeping systems to maintain records.
• Attends evening meetings and public hearings to present information.
