Job summary

The City of Bellevue Transportation Department seeks a Transportation Engineer to join the Transportation Development Review team. The role focuses on reviewing plans, traffic analyses, and providing recommendations to developers while serving the public and maintaining records.

Candidates should hold a Civil Engineering degree (PE preferred or substitution allowed) and have at least two years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering or related field; PE license may substitute for degree.
• Two years of engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and training.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering plans for compliance with standards and project requirements.
• Review traffic analysis prepared by consultants.
• Prepare letters, memos and reports addressing site design and traffic impact issues; provide recommendations for developer conditions.
• Conduct engineering analysis to identify areas of concern.
• Collaborate with staff to resolve project issues as part of an interdepartmental team.
• Provide excellent customer service to City residents and those doing business with the City.
• Interpret and ensure compliance with codes, standards, specifications, policies, and procedures.
