Job summary

The City of Bellevue is seeking a Utilities Review Professional to assess residential and commercial projects for water, sewer, and storm drainage codes while delivering excellent customer service to owners, occupants, contractors, and the public.

You will oversee utility project reviews, liaise between developers, their design teams, and city departments, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of civil engineering principles in municipal settings.
• Familiarity with city development processes and building regulations.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines and budgets.
• Knowledge of storm drainage design and BMPs.
• Experience with stormwater modeling tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage Utility Extension projects with complex engineering review and design options.
• Serve as utility project manager for reviewing engineering, land use, and development applications.
• Coordinate with developers, design teams, and City departments to resolve issues.
• Analyze technical requirements and legal docs for water, sewer, and storm drainage proposals.
• Interpret engineering designs and ensure compliance with City Codes and standards.
• Represent the Utilities Department in public hearings and meetings.
• Respond to public inquiries about utility issues and costs.
