Job summary

Nitsch Engineering is seeking a Transportation Design Project Manager to join our Lawrence, MA office. This role leads transportation projects for MassDOT, cities, and private clients, overseeing design, staffing, and client relations to deliver high-quality solutions.

You will mentor staff, drive project milestones, and manage design of roadways and related facilities while pursuing new business opportunities and presenting at industry events to represent the firm.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• Massachusetts PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• 10+ years of transportation/highway engineering experience.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong project and client management experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee transportation projects for public and private clients.
• Staff and supervise project teams including subconsultants.
• Perform technical quality control reviews.
• Prepare milestone and final submissions.
• Design roadways, intersections, rail trails, and studies.
• Prepare construction documents, specs, estimates, and reports.
• Lead business development and represent Nitsch at conferences.
• Foster professional development of staff.
