Job Description

Seeking a growth-oriented engineer to serve as our Highway (Civil) Department Manager. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving the growth of the department, focusing on project execution and supporting other Project Managers on a variety of transportation projects. This person will collaborate closely with clients and project teams, working throughout the project life cycle to ensure seamless delivery and client satisfaction.

Role Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the transportation department.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage and monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely transportation.
  • Coordinate with other departments to optimize logistics processes.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess department performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of transportation professionals.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement safety protocols.
  • Prepare and manage the transportation budget effectively.
  • Address and resolve transportation-related issues and conflicts.
  • Analyze transportation data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare reports for upper management regarding transportation metrics.
  • Innovate and implement new technologies to improve service delivery.
  • Develop training programs for team members focused on skills enhancement.
  • Collaborate with upper management to align transportation strategies with business goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation management.
  • Proven experience in team leadership and staff development.
  • Strong understanding of transportation laws and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with logistics software and technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong financial acumen and budgeting experience.
  • Capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities.
  • Knowledge of the latest industry trends and best practices.

  • Experience in project management is a plus.
