Job summary

Miami University Alumni Association in Oxford, MS is seeking a Transportation/Delivery Assistant (Vending) to maintain an assigned vending route, stocking and servicing beverage and snack machines on campus.

You will utilize inventory software, reports, iPads, and mobile apps to control stock, analyze reports for product mix and pricing, and test equipment for uptime. The role starts early morning and involves campus-based duties.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and one year of moving, delivery, warehousing, or related experience.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL may be required.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and other powered material-handling equipment.
• Proficiency using computer programs, mobile applications, and iPads for inventory and route management.
• Knowledge of safe moving techniques and material-handling procedures.
• Ability to work independently while managing time effectively to complete assigned routes.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with student employees.

Essential Duties

Responsible for maintaining an assigned vending route, including stocking and servicing beverage and snack vending machines.

Utilize various technology platforms (inventory software, reports, iPads, and mobile applications) to manage stock levels and prepare products for machines.

Analyze inventory reports to determine proper product mix and maintain machine planograms and pricing.

Test vending equipment during route stops; identify, troubleshoot, and mitigate functionality issues as needed.

Coordinate and work alongside student employees during the academic year to ensure routes are completed efficiently and on time.

Transport product from delivery trucks to campus buildings using dollies, carts, hand jacks, electric jacks, or forklifts.

Operate University vehicles, including box trucks, to deliver and distribute products to specified campus locations.

Load and unload materials and supplies from vehicles.

Perform general warehousing and distribution duties on a regular basis.

Spend the majority of the workday on campus completing assigned route stops.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires High school diploma or GED and one year of moving, delivery, warehousing, or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid driver’s license required; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) may be required.

Additional Job Description:

Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues.

Spending long portion of the shift out in the weather elements throughout the year

5am-1:30pm Monday-Friday is the primary shift. Occasional weekend work can be required
