Job summary

HDR seeks a Transportation Data Steward embedded in the Transportation Business Group to define and enable data usage across disciplines. This leadership role coordinates subject matter experts and technical authorities to ensure consistent data practices, reuse, and delivery excellence across HDR projects.

The role emphasizes enablement, collaboration, and alignment with HDR’s data strategy, enabling smarter decisions and scalable analytics within transportation programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, data science, business, computer science, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Ten years of strategic leadership experience in data-centric solutions and services.
• Experience leading teams through change management within an enterprise setting.

Responsibilities

• Define technical standards for the Transportation BG and align with enterprise data practices.
• Develop and maintain business-aligned data definitions supporting data models, reporting, automation, and AI use cases.
• Coordinate with SME networks to build consensus around data processes, priority, and usage.
• Promote responsible data use, data quality, access controls, and data lifecycle practices.
• Lead governance of externally sourced datasets (access, approvals, inventory, storage, lifecycle).
• Drive data fluency across the Transportation BG and align data workflows with strategy.
• Communicate with other Data Stewards and Enterprise Data Operations teams regularly.
