Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation Data Steward to lead data definition, sharing, and reuse across the Transportation Business Group. This role helps enable better business decisions, data reuse, and project delivery excellence, embedded in the Transportation BG rather than IT.

It focuses on defining how data is captured, structured, governed, and reused across projects and time. The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and alignment with enterprise data strategy, enabling teams to define

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, data science, business, computer science, or related discipline
• At least 10 years of experience in the resources engineering industry
• Experience leading diverse teams and driving change in data practices
• Ability to work with leaders, operations managers, and technical directors to align data strategy

Responsibilities

• Establish and coordinate SME networks across the Transportation BG to define technical standards
• Develop and maintain business-aligned data definitions for key terms
• Build alignment around data processes, priority, and usage with your technical network
• Promote responsible use of technical data including access, quality, and reuse
• Govern externally sourced datasets and manage inventory awareness
• Promote data fluency across the Transportation BG
• Coordinate with the Technology Director to align data workflows with strategy
• Lead change management to drive adoption of data standards and tools across the BG
• Regularly communicate with Data Stewards, Enterprise Data Science Teams, and Enterprise Data Operations staff
• Ensure new tools align to the data strategy
