Job summary

HDR seeks a Transportation Data Steward to shape data definitions and reuse across the Transportation Business Group. This leadership role coordinates SMEs and technical authorities to enable consistent data practices and informed decision making across projects.

The position embeds in the Transportation BG (not IT), emphasizes enablement, collaboration, and change management to drive adoption of data standards and tools that support analytics, automation, and AI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required in related fields.
• At least 10 years of leadership experience in a data-centric environment.
• Experience building and leading diverse teams across functions.
• Ability to work with executives, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers.
• Demonstrated commitment to HDR values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Define and coordinate data standards across Transportation BG.
• Develop and maintain business-aligned data definitions for engineering/technical terms.
• Build alignment and consensus on data processes, priorities and usage.
• Promote responsible data access, quality, format standards and reuse.
• Govern externally sourced datasets and lifecycle considerations.
• Foster data fluency across the Transportation BG.
• Coordinate with Technology Director to align data workflows with strategy.
• Lead change management for data standards and tools.
• Collaborate with Data Stewards, Enterprise Data Science, and Enterprise Data Operations.
