Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation Data Steward to lead the standardization and reuse of data across its Transportation Business Group. This role guides how definitions are created, shared, and applied to ensure consistent data usage across disciplines and service lines.

As a senior leader, you will coordinate with SME networks and technology leaders to enable data-driven decisions, reuse, and delivery excellence while embedding HDR’s data strategy across projects and teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent related experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the resources engineering industry.
• Proven experience leading data governance, data standards, and enterprise data initiatives.
• Ability to translate complex data concepts into actionable guidance for delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Define technical standards for Transportation data practices and enterprise expectations.
• Develop and maintain business-aligned data definitions supporting structured data models, reporting, automation, and AI use cases.
• Coordinate with SME networks to build consensus on data processes, priority, and usage.
• Promote responsible use of technical data including access, quality, format, and reuse.
• Govern externally sourced datasets (approval, inventory, storage, lifecycle).
• Advance data fluency across the Transportation Business Group.
