Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation Data Steward to shape how data is defined, shared, and reused across the Transportation Business Group. This embedded leadership role focuses on enabling consistent data practices and driving data-driven decision making across projects and teams.

You will coordinate experts and technical authorities, promote data fluency, and lead change management to adopt standards and tools that improve delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 10 years in the Resources engineering industry.
• 10+ years leading diverse data-centric solutions and services.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.
• Committed to quality, improvement, HDR values.
• Active participation in our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Define technical standards across the Transportation Business Group and align with enterprise expectations.
• Develop and maintain business-aligned data definitions for key engineering and technical terms.
• Coordinate SME networks to build consensus around data processes and priorities.
• Promote data quality, responsible use, and reuse across projects.
• Govern externally sourced datasets (access, approvals, inventory, storage, lifecycle).
• Lead change management to drive adoption of data standards, practices, and tools.
• Regularly communicate with Enterprise Data teams and Data Operations staff.
• Ensure new tools align to the Transportation BG data strategy.
