Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation Data Steward to define how data is captured, structured, governed, and reused across the Transportation Business Group. This embedded leadership role collaborates with subject matter experts and technical authorities to establish data standards and enable consistent decision making.

You’ll drive data fluency, lead change management, and coordinate with the Technology Director to align workflows with strategy.

• Experience leading data stewardship initiatives across multiple domains.
• Ability to translate complex data concepts into actionable guidance.
• Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration and influencing without authority.
• Strong communication skills and credibility with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define and coordinate data standards across the Transportation BG; align with enterprise data practices.
• Lead stakeholder alignment to ensure consistent data definitions and reuse across projects.
• Support governance of datasets, data quality and lifecycle considerations.
• Drive adoption of data standards, practices, and tools across teams and regions.
