HDR is seeking a Transportation Data Steward who will define and govern data across HDR's Transportation Business Group. The role is embedded in the Transportation BG, not IT, empowering teams to define data once, use it consistently, and reuse it across projects.

This leadership position coordinates subject matter experts and technical authorities to enable data-driven decisions, improve reuse, and support project delivery excellence for HDR's transportation initiatives.

Qualifications

• This is a senior leadership role focused on data governance and strategy.
• Experience leading change and guiding data standards across large teams.
• Ability to coordinate SMEs and technical authorities across domains.

Responsibilities

• Establish and coordinate a network of SMEs across Transportation BG to define technical standards.
• Develop business-aligned data definitions supporting models, reporting, automation, and AI.
• Build alignment around data processes, priority and usage with the technical network.
• Promote responsible use of data, access controls, and data quality practices.
• Govern externally sourced datasets including inventory, storage, and lifecycle.
• Promote data fluency across the Transportation BG and align with strategy.
• Coordinate with the Technology Director to align data workflows with strategy.
• Lead change management to drive adoption of data standards and tools.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Data teams and Data Operations staff.
• Ensure new tools fit within the Transportation BG data strategy.
