Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation Data Steward to define, align, and sustain data practices across the Transportation BG. This leadership role coordinates SME experts and technical authorities to enable data reuse and better project delivery.

It sits in a broader employee-owned culture and emphasizes data integrity and enterprise alignment. Embedded in HDR’s Transportation Business Group, this role is not IT, but a leadership position driving data strategy, governance, and cross-team collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, data science, business, computer science, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 10 years in resources engineering or related data-centric leadership roles.
• Experience leading diverse teams and strategic change initiatives.
• Ability to collaborate with operations managers, leaders, and technical directors.
• Commitment to HDR values and an active participant in the employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Define and align data practices across Transportation BG with enterprise standards.
• Coordinate SME expertise to define technical data definitions and standards.
• Develop and maintain business-aligned data definitions for key terms.
• Promote data fluency and governance across delivery teams and projects.
• Lead governance of externally sourced datasets and lifecycle considerations.
• Drive adoption of data standards, practices, and tools across the organization.
