Job description

CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is seeking Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisors for projects around the Greater Pittsburgh area for the upcoming 2025 Construction season.

The Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor (TCIS) is responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others on matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work. The TCIS prepares daily progress reports, maintains progress schedules, checks shop drawings and quotations for variations, keeps records of quantities and costs, and prepares payment claims. TCIS may supervise a staff of inspectors.

Essential Functions:

1. Ensure compliance with contract documents and the contractor's health and safety plan
2. Verify that delivered materials conform to specifications
3. Check contractor's layout and accuracy
4. Prepare and submit daily work reports
5. Communicate effectively in oral and written forms
6. Follow instructions and utilize office equipment and computers
7. Perform physical activities such as bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working in adverse weather conditions
8. Wear personal protective gear and react to hazards

Other Principal Duties:

1. Travel as required
2. Maintain a positive attitude and professional pride
3. Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education with basic math skills
• Certifications required or equivalent: BS in Civil Engineering, NICET Level 2+ in Transportation/Highway Construction, NECEPT Bituminous certification, ACI/PennDOT Concrete technician, PennDOT/PTC CDS, ECMS experience, OSHA 10-Hour certification
