Job summary

Consor is seeking a construction inspector to support major transportation infrastructure projects in the Portland metro area. You will oversee field inspections across roadways, bridges, transit facilities, and utilities, ensuring contract compliance, safety and quality standards.

You will be a liaison among contractors, project managers, owners, and design teams to deliver projects on time and within budget. A minimum of 2 years' experience with transportation projects is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of construction inspection experience on transportation infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, standards, and contract documents.
• Experience documenting contractor quantities and preparing inspector reports.
• Familiarity with ODOT standards, manuals and ADA requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic construction management systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspection of transportation construction projects including highways, bridges, transit facilities, and utilities.
• Verify contractor compliance with plans, permits, and safety requirements.
• Inspect earthwork, paving, drainage, structures, traffic signals, and ADA improvements.
• Review schedules, submittals, and testing results; monitor quantities for pay estimates.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, labs, and agency staff.
• Maintain detailed field records, photos and daily reports; document non-conforming work.
• Attend meetings and assist in change orders, claims avoidance, and closeout activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and environmental requirements.
