Job summary

Consor in Portland, OR is seeking a Construction Inspector to oversee major transportation projects across the region. You will monitor field operations, verify compliance with plans, specs, and safety standards, and coordinate with contractors, project managers, owners, and design teams to keep projects on schedule.

Requirements include a high school diploma (associate/bachelor preferred) and at least 2 years of inspection experience on transportation infrastructure; knowledge of ODOT standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associated or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of construction inspection experience on transportation infrastructure.
• Experience with ODOT projects and standards.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Proficiency with MS Office and electronic construction management systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspection of transportation construction projects (highways, bridges, transit, utilities).
• Verify contractor compliance with plans, permits, environmental requirements, and standards.
• Inspect earthwork, paving, drainage, structures, signals and utilities.
• Review contractor schedules, submittals, and testing results.
• Monitor quantities for pay estimates and progress payments.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, labs, utilities, and agencies.
• Maintain daily reports, diaries, photos, and field records.
• Document non-conforming work and assist in issue resolution.
• Conduct field measurements and layout verifications.
• Attend progress and coordination meetings.
• Support change order documentation and project closeout.
• Ensure safety and compliance with policies and regulations.
