Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Senior Construction Inspector - Transportation based in Oregon, affiliated with Bend, Portland, or Corvallis offices. You will inspect on-site activities on roads, rapid transit, and ADA ramp projects, review plans, and assist with turnover packages.

The role requires 7+ years in DOT construction, strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a valid driver's license. Travel Oregon-wide per diem is required during the season.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent certified technical training.
• 7+ years of experience working in DOT construction industry.
• Knowledge of construction including material, methods, plans and specifications; associated safety requirements.
• Able and willing to work day and/or flexible schedules including weekends as required to support the project requirements.
• Valid drivers license with good driving history.
• Current, or ability to acquire Oregon DOT construction inspection and Americans with Disability Act ramp certification (preferred).
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas.
• Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications and ensure quality compliance on DOT projects.
• Provide on-site inspection of materials at receipt and installation and monitor workmanship.
• Assist in Turn Over Package requirements and development.
• Travel Oregon-wide per diem during the construction season; otherwise based in office/home-office as appropriate.
