Transportation Construction Inspector

Ranked #50 on Engineering News-Record's Top 500 Design Firms, we are seeking inspectors for our Pittsburgh Construction Management Team to support PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike projects.

Position Details:

• Location: Erie, PA
• Employment Type: Full-Time/Regular
• Note: Not eligible for employer sponsorship except for TN visa classification.

Responsibilities:

1. Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards.
2. Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
3. Measure dimensions and verify levels, alignments, and elevations to ensure adherence to plans and codes.
4. Maintain accurate record documents and field notes.
5. Perform computations as needed.

Additional Duties:

• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in computer skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle, with successful completion of JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.
• High school diploma or equivalent; experience may substitute.
• 1-4 years of construction inspection experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Certifications as requested by the client.
