Transportation Construction Inspection Supervisor

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is a dynamic, employee-owned consulting firm with over 2,400 professionals, providing engineering, architecture, IT, and related services across the U.S. Ranked #50 on ENR's Top 500 Design Firms, we are seeking Inspector Supervisors for our Pittsburgh Construction Management Team to support PennDOT projects and other client assignments.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards.
• Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
• Measure dimensions and verify levels, alignments, and elevations to ensure adherence to plans and codes.
• Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities, ensuring contractor compliance.
• Schedule and manage subordinate inspection staff throughout all project phases.
• Draft project correspondence, facilitate meetings, and resolve field issues on behalf of the client.
• Maintain record documents and perform field notes and computations.
• Engage with the public, government agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders to address inquiries.

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Strong computer proficiency.
• Active driver's license and reliable vehicle, with successful completion of JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent, or experience substitution.
• Minimum of 4+ years of Construction Inspection Experience.
• Client-requested certifications.

Preferred Experience

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• Supervisory experience in construction management/inspection.
• Ability to act as an Owner's Agent or Responsible in Charge.
