Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Summer Intern to be based in Chicago, Illinois. This position is expected to begin in May 2027 and will be with the Chicago Transportation Civil Engineering group, focusing on planning and design for streets, highways, and transit infrastructure improvements.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with at least one year completed.
• Relevant coursework in civil engineering is beneficial.
• Interest in pursuing an advanced degree after internship.

Responsibilities

• Work with Chicago Transportation Civil Engineering group on planning and design for streets, highways, and transit infrastructure improvements.
• Assist in CAD design, design calculations, and preparation of plan drawings.
• Learn through hands-on tasks and mentoring to transition from student to professional.
