Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Summer Intern to be based in Chicago, Illinois. This internship is set to begin in May 2027 and will involve working with the Chicago Transportation Civil Engineering group on planning and design for streets, highways, and transit infrastructure.

Interns will gain hands-on skills that bridge academia and professional practice, with duties including CAD design, design calculations, and preparation of plan drawings, under close mentorship and project exposure.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and at least one year of study completed.
• Recent graduates may apply if pursuing a Master's in the same discipline.
• Interest in continuing with an advanced degree after the internship.
