Job summary

AECOM is seeking entry-level Transportation Engineers to be based in Chicago, Illinois. The position begins in May 2027, with a hybrid work arrangement and opportunities to develop analytic and design skills under supervision.

Responsibilities include performing design tasks, preparing sketches and drawings, analyzing data, and supporting budget and schedule adherence while learning from experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Engineer-in-Training (FE) registration within 6 months preferred.
• Experience in Civil Engineering design preferred.
• Familiarity with highway design elements and plan/contract document preparation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Builds analytic and design skills under supervision.
• Conducts engineering design under supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams and final drawings under supervision.
• Follows internal quality control processes and analyzes data.
• Uses computer software as a tool for solving engineering problems.
• Performs work aligned with budget and schedule under supervision.
