Job summary

AECOM is seeking Summer Interns to be based in Chicago, Illinois. This internship begins in May 2027 and offers exposure to the Chicago Transportation Civil Engineering group, with projects spanning streets, highways, and transit improvements.

Interns will gain hands-on CAD design, design calculation, and preparation of plan drawings, developing practical skills beyond coursework and preparing for professional life in infrastructure.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and must have completed at least two years of study.Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

• Some CAD experience
