Job summary

AECOM is seeking Summer Interns to be based in Chicago, Illinois. This internship begins in May 2027 and offers exposure to the Chicago Transportation Civil Engineering group, with projects spanning streets, highways, and transit improvements.

Interns will gain hands-on CAD design, design calculation, and preparation of plan drawings, developing practical skills beyond coursework and preparing for professional life in infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Some CAD experience.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with two years completed.

Responsibilities

• Internship will be with the Chicago Transportation Civil Engineering group working on projects such as planning and design for streets, highways, and transit infrastructure improvements.
• Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
