Job summary

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is seeking Engineering Technicians/Construction Inspectors for multiple NC sites (Hickory, Gastonia, Statesville, Shelby, Lincolnton) to support CEI services, roadwork, and bridge projects. Candidates should have NCDOT certifications and strong MS Office skills, with OSHA 10 within 2 weeks of hire.

Roles involve daily field observation, material testing, and documentation, with potential night/weekend work.

Qualifications

• HS diploma required or equivalent.
• Assoc or BS in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology is a plus.
• Roadway and bridge inspection experience is required.
• Experience working on NCDOT projects.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
• Must complete OSHA 10 within 2 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily observation of construction activities and document activities on required reports/forms.
• Review construction materials for contract and specification compliance.
• Inspect roadways and structures for conformance to plans and specifications.
• Evaluate structural materials, placement of culverts, and structural operations such as foundation excavation.
• Monitor placement of pilings, reinforcing and structural steel, concrete, and backfill.
• Verifies lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using survey and field engineering equipment.
• Perform accurate calculations and computations.
• Sample and test construction materials to ensure they meet the quality requirements of the project specifications.
• Review contractor submittals for conformance to project documents and specifications.
• Document and immediately report any non-compliance actions and safety violations to your immediate supervisor.
• Recording Daily Work Reports to include quantities and an objective description of the work shift activities.
