A respected civil and environmental engineering firm is seeking a Transportation Business Line Manager based in Boston, MA. This leadership position is responsible for driving strategic growth and overseeing project delivery within the Transportation Business Line for Massachusetts. The role includes developing growth strategies, spearheading marketing efforts, representing the firm at industry events, mentoring staff, and supporting recruitment to build a high-performing team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a targeted growth strategy for the transportation sector in Massachusetts.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and support technical staff in doing the same.
- Identify and pursue project opportunities, including preparing client and opportunity plans.
- Lead proposal development and participate in client presentations and interviews.
- Represent the firm at industry associations, seminars, and networking events to expand market presence.
- Mentor team members, assess training needs, and introduce relevant technologies to enhance efficiency and expertise.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering; Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Massachusetts strongly preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience in transportation design, with significant focus on highway or bridge projects.
- Experience working with MassDOT is preferred.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in leading and managing large-scale transportation projects from initiation to completion.
- Experience with contract negotiations, scope development, and project budgeting.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
