Role Summary

As a member of the Public Affairs and Policy team, the Assistant Director of Public Affairs & Policy is a critical role within Corporate Affairs and at Servier. This role provides substantive support for coding, coverage, and reimbursement policies to improve access to Servier therapies in the US.This position reports to the Director, Public Affairs and Policy and works collaboratively across Servier including regular partnership with US colleagues in Market Access, Communications, and Regulatory Affairs. The role will be responsible for monitoring and tracking U.S. federal and state policy-related news, legislation, and regulations that impacts Servier business, industry, and patients. This position will act as a representative of Servier at public affairs events, ensuring engagement with key policy stakeholders. This position will support the development of the Public Policy functional strategy as a key policy subject matter expert. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to support a growing organization achieve business objectives using their healthcare policy and government relations expertise.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with Corporate Affairs team and internal cross-functional partners to guide policy-related initiatives to address evolving federal and state changes.
  • Summarize and provide internal education on payment and operational rules released by HHS and state-based health agencies and legislatures.
  • Support development of short- term and long-term impact analyses of proposed policies to Servier’s U.S. business and propose and guide policy strategies at both the federal and state level.
  • Represent Public Affairs and Policy as subject matter expert to colleagues in US Market Access and other internal stakeholders on enterprise project teams, committees, etc.
  • Actively participate in and advocate for Servier’s interest in trade association work groups, including BIO, MassBIO, New England Council, and others as needed.
  • Support engagements before policymakers and federal agency staff responsible for payment, coverage and reimbursement policy issues.
  • Clearly and strategically articulate Servier’s positions on assigned policy issues to policymakers and other external stakeholders under supervision of Policy leadership.
  • Accountable for driving US Corporate Social Responsibility strategy in partnership with US and Global Corporate Affairs colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (health policy, public health, political science or related field); Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in federal and/or state health policy, with expertise in Medicare, Medicaid, and drug pricing, ideally within government or the biopharmaceutical sector.
  • Strong grasp of reimbursement policy and healthcare legislation (e.g., Inflation Reduction Act); oncology policy, 340B, and state prescription drug review board experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to track, analyze, and respond to evolving policy trends affecting access, innovation, and public health.
  • Experience managing research initiatives and regulatory engagements, including coordination with external consultants.
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to prioritize and deliver under pressure.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and communication skills; able to distill complex policy issues into actionable insights for varied audiences.
  • Effective collaborator with cross-functional, cross-cultural, and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Working knowledge of the pharmaceutical development and commercialization lifecycle.

Travel and Location

  • Remote eligible from Washington, DC with 20% travel required.
