Job summary

Bettendorf Community School District is seeking a dependable Transportation (Bus) Aide to join our transportation team. This role assists students with safe entry and exit and supports the bus driver to ensure a positive transportation experience. The position requires punctuality, strong communication, and adherence to safety protocols.

Start date is as Soon As Possible, around 45 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $20.15/hour. Eligibility to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and needs.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent schedule.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow district safety procedures.
• Must successfully complete background checks and employment requirements.
• Must provide I-9 documentation to verify eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with safely entering and exiting the school bus.
• Provide supervision and support to students while the bus is in operation.
• Assist students with seat belts, safety equipment, or other transportation needs.
• Support the bus driver in maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
• Follow student-specific transportation and safety plans as directed.
• Communicate appropriately with transportation staff, school staff, students, and families.
• Respond calmly and appropriately to student needs or emergencies.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students and district information.
• Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned.
