Job summary

The State of West Virginia is seeking a Transportation Division Director – Budget Division to manage development, execution, and monitoring of the Department's budget and advise senior leaders on fiscal matters. This role oversees Budget, Financial Reporting, and Federal Aid sections and will shape financial policies across divisions.

Ideal candidates possess a bachelor’s degree and at least eight years of administrative or supervisory experience in budgeting and finance, with strong leadership

Qualifications

• Eight years of administrative or supervisory experience in accounting, budgeting, business operations, personnel, purchasing or technology.
• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Ability to plan, organize, direct and coordinate the work of others.
• Knowledge of fiscal and budgetary management fundamentals.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal legislation and government processes as they relate to the Department of Transportation.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers long and short-range goals for the division.
• Oversees and directs the daily operations of the division through managers and supervisors.
• Coordinates division activities with other Transportation Department Units, other state and federal agencies, and the public.
• Testifies at legislative, judicial, or public hearings on agency position or as a subject matter expert.
