Job summary

State of West Virginia is seeking a Transportation Comptroller-level professional to oversee accounting and financial operations for a district. The role reports to the District Business Management Section at District 2 Headquarters, directing accounting, personnel, purchasing and MIS activities with wide latitude for independent judgment.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in business or public administration or related fields with accounting coursework, plus four years of accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with six accounting hours.
• Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in bookkeeping/accounting/auditing; two years in supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Direct financial, accounting, personnel, purchasing and MIS activities for the district/state agency.
• Plan, organize and maintain an accounting system on a computer system.
• Supervise a staff of professional accounting and clerical employees.
