Are you ready to help Amazon deliver world class service in its transportation operations? Transportation Associates will perform trailer moves in the trailer yard, coordinate yard activities such as checking in trailers, traffic flow, internal communications with operations, conduct yard audits, complete applicable driver training programs, and operate multiple vehicle types based on business need to support Amazon’s transportation network.
Responsibilities
- Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations and enforcing safety measures for all who operate vehicles on behalf of Amazon and those who enter the yard, including vendors and senior team members.
- Perform various functions within the yard, support site operations teams, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers to ensure all trailers arrive and depart on time with zero defects and maintain workflow for buildings.
- Be professionally trained to operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non-public roads or in the yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations.
- Learn Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and comply with company policies for size, weight, route designations, parking, trailer designations, violation and incident reporting requirements, break periods, etc.
- Complete driver vehicle inspection reports on equipment and notify managers of maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
- Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks in compliance with Amazon policy and federal and state regulations, obey all applicable traffic laws, and drive in accordance with weather/road conditions.
- Support the business on an as‑needed basis by serving as a peer trainer and/or working at nearby site locations within the area.
- Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck using approved equipment such as pallet jacks.

Basic Qualifications
- Hold a valid and active driver’s license.
- High school or equivalent diploma.
- Be 21 years of age or older.
- Work 40 hours per week and overtime as required.
- Work a flexible schedule, shift, work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, reach and ascend/descend stairs.
- Have the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences.
- Experience building strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and outside vendors.
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Completion of Career Choice Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Course.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.

Starting pay for this position is listed below including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential, which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, you are eligible for additional earnings including overtime pay and performance bonuses.
