Job summary

WSP USA in New York, NY is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Transportation Facilities Group. You will lead engineering staff on rail and bus stations, airports, and transportation hubs, developing design details, calculations, and project drawings using REVIT, AutoCAD, and RAM Structural System.

Ideal candidates bring 5–7 years of transportation structural design experience, PE license (NY/NJ) or ability to obtain NY within 1 year, and strong collaboration with architects and

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and prior structural design experience in transportation projects.
• PE Licensed (NY/NJ) or able to obtain NY State PE within 1 year.
• Knowledgeable in state and city building codes and industry standards (IBC, ACI 318, AISC 360).
• Experience with construction documents.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT; knowledge of MicroStation and Open Building is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering staff on various task assignments.
• Develop structural design details, drawings and specifications, including calculations for new designs and rehabilitation work.
• Develop drawings in REVIT (BIM), AutoCAD, MicroStation and Open Building.
• Strong capabilities in STAADPro, RAM Structural System, SAP2000, ETABS and SAFE.
• Utilize Excel and Mathcad Prime for structural calculations.
• Lead field inspection teams for evaluation of structural systems.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and architects on design documents.
• Work in a paperless office and remote when required.
