Job summary

Leidos is seeking a IT operations leader to guide a team of employees and contractors, aligning priorities with customer missions. You will oversee 24x7 network operations, monitor alarms, and document resolutions to ensure mission-critical uptime.

Qualified candidates have a DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification, strong staff supervisory skills, and experience with Cisco/Juniper networks, MPLS, and transport topologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with relevant IT/operations experience.
• DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification required before start date.
• Ability to work in a 24x7 shift environment.
• U.S. Citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance required.
• Knowledge of transport and IP network topologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Leidos employees and subcontractors toward aligned goals.
• Manage daily contractor operations and act as focal point for tasks.
• Address and mediate performance issues within the team.
• Provide guidance, resources, and support to team members.
• Foster growth, learning, and skill development.
• Oversee staffing activities and resolve disputes.
• Collaborate with customers and engineers to maximize network availability.
• Monitor network alarms and use platform tools for management.
• Document outages, degradations, escalations, and resolutions.
• Assess incidents and recommend resolutions across routers, switches, and telecom tech.

Job description

• Lead a team of Leidos employees and sub-contractors, aligning team direction and goals with organizational and customer missions
• Manage daily contractor operations and serve as the focal point for contractor-assigned tasks
• Address and mediate performance issues
• Provide guidance, support, and resources to team members
• Foster employee growth, continuous learning, and skill enhancement
• Manage team staffing activities and resolve disputes or disagreements
• Work with supported customers and engineers across other NOCs to maximize network availability and minimize mission and operational impact
• Monitor network alarms using platform-specific network management tools
• Document outages, degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions throughout service-impacting network incidents
• Assess network incidents and deficiencies and recommend resolutions involving routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, Cisco, Juniper, MSPP, optical transport networks, MPLS, TDM, and SDH/SONET

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 2–4 years of prior relevant experience, or master's degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification, such as Security+ CE or equivalent, held prior to start date
• Ability to work in a 24x7 shift work environment
• U.S. Citizenship
• Active DoD Secret security clearance
• Working knowledge of Transport and IP network topologies
• Prior experience managing and supervising staff in IT or Operations
• Preferred: tech control facility or cyber transport experience
• Preferred: circuit actions and vendor experience
• Preferred: IP architecture experience
• Preferred: Telco NOC, inside or outside plant experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Teams
• Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, or change management
