Job summary

Jobtailor in Englewood, CO is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support DoD-level LAN/WAN environments and assist Tier III engineers on incidents and projects. You will manage configurations, perform IOS upgrades, conduct site surveys, and ensure assets and topology drawings are accurate.

Qualifications

• 10 years of combined work history and/or education experience.

Responsibilities

• Support installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices.
• Respond to incidents, demonstrate troubleshooting skills, and communicate with the team.
• Complete tasks within SLOs/SLAs.
• Draft and implement standard network change requests.
• Support Tier III network engineers on incidents and projects (site surveys, TEMS, install new equipment).
• Perform configuration management (update topology drawings, asset records, inventory).
• Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
• Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, Port Security, and Layer 2 switching configurations.
• Perform IOS upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, and Foundry OS.

Job description

• Support the installation and maintenance of the client LAN/WAN devices
• Respond to and resolve incidents, demonstrate troubleshooting skills and communicate with the team
• Complete assigned tasks within Service Level Objectives/Agreements (SLOs/SLAs)
• Draft and implement standard network change requests
• Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, TEMS, coordinate and install new equipment)
• Perform configuration management functions such as update topology drawings, ensure asset management records are accurate, and conduct inventory
• Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades
• Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (VLAN’s, Port Security, Thin Configs)
• Perform IOS upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, Brocade and Foundry OS

Requirements

• Candidate must have 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education
• Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2
• Available to travel up to 20% of the time
• Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
• Available to work flexible hours, to include weekend support
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment
