Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Network Engineer to administer and troubleshoot enterprise Cisco networks, with a focus on routing, switching, wireless, and SD-WAN. The candidate will develop standards, runbooks, and procedures while coordinating with vendors and engineering teams on upgrades and projects.

You will monitor health, logs, and KPIs, respond to incidents, and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation. A strong foundation in Python and Ansible is preferred for automation and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant network infrastructure experience.
• Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching required.
• CCNA Wireless/Security preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Proficient knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF/BGP.
• Experience with SD-WAN and network monitoring tools.

Job description

• Administer, configure, install, provision, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure systems
• Support enterprise Cisco network infrastructure, including routing and switching, wireless networking, SD-WAN, network monitoring, branch/ATM connectivity, and network operations
• Install, configure, maintain, patch, upgrade, and troubleshoot network systems and related infrastructure
• Develop and maintain configuration standards, operating procedures, documentation, runbooks, and process improvements
• Coordinate with vendors, engineering teams, service stakeholders, and team members for technical support, upgrades, maintenance, and project work
• Monitor network health, availability, alerts, logs, performance, capacity, and system integrity; provide KPI and metrics reporting
• Respond to incidents, problems, service requests, and escalations; monitor ITSM queues and prioritize resolution
• Lead root cause analysis for major incidents and act as an escalation point for complex network issues
• Create, change, and delete user accounts per request
• Assist with support cases escalated by Network Administrators I and II
• Conduct after-hours maintenance and participate in the 24x7x365 on-call rotation supporting the production environment
• Travel to remote office and ATM locations up to 50% of the time
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with regulatory compliance and training requirements

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience required
• 3-5 years of relevant network infrastructure experience required
• Cisco CCNA Routing and switching required
• Cisco CCNA Wireless preferred
• Cisco CCNA Security preferred
• ACMA/ACCA preferred
• CCSA preferred
• F5-CA preferred
• Participation in the CA DMV pull program may be required depending on assignment
• Intermediate knowledge of routing, switching, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, OSI, VLANs, trunking, NAT, QoS, DHCP, DNS, HSRP, IPsec, EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP
• Foundational to intermediate knowledge of SD-WAN, branch connectivity, circuit failover, DIA, broadband, MPLS, cellular connectivity, and enterprise network monitoring
• Foundational to intermediate knowledge of Python and Ansible
• Foundational to intermediate knowledge of monitoring applications including Live Action, Thousand Eyes, and SolarWinds
• Foundational to intermediate knowledge of wireless networking, including Aruba, Cisco Wireless, access point monitoring, client troubleshooting, and RF basics
• Foundational to intermediate knowledge of incident, request, task, and change management workflows; device lifecycle support; configuration validation; backup review; and standardization efforts
• Foundational to intermediate knowledge of network documentation, configuration checklists, diagrams, branch/ATM support documentation, standard operating procedures, automation, reporting, and operational efficiency practices
• Intermediate knowledge of SNMP, logging, packet capture, operating systems, servers, storage, audit/security best practices, and data center standards including cabling, power, fire suppression, and safety
